



Our kitchen teamcook on a daily basis fresh for 400 nursery- and kindergarten-children according to the standards of the initiative “Healthy Cuisine” of the province of Carinthia and are certified as “Healthy Cuisine” and regularly inspected.
The aim is to provide thebest possible cateringto promote and maintain the health and enjoyment of the children. From snacks to lunch, our children learn about and enjoy healthy food and different tastes: good eating habits are a capital for their later life.
The food is freshly cooked every day, delivered and eaten immediately. It is our concern to offer the childrenhealthy and balanced meals, both for snacks and for lunch.
at least the following criteria that we have defined:
- Use of high quality oils / rapeseed or olive oil – low-fat preparation
- Renunciation of flavour enhancers and “convenience”-products
- All baked products will contain a minimum proportion of 25% wholemeal flour
- Rice and pasta, will be offered at least once a week in the menu in 25% wholemeal variation (brown rice, wholemeal pasta)
- Meat only once per week
- Fish will be offered at least once a month.
- Legumes will be offered at least once a week (also in the form of salads and spreads
- At least Fortnightly alternative cereals are on the agenda (e.g. polenta, quinoa, buckwheat, millet, etc.).
- Each lunch menu includes a vegetable or salad portion. A portion of fruit and/or vegetables with each snack.
We buy local and seasonal foods, in part from organic farmers:
- Organic milk from “Kärntner Milch”
- Yoghurt from “Kärntner Milch”
- Curd cheese from the “Bauernladen Berger” in Einöde
- Organic eggs from the bio- Loeschenkohl family in Bad Eisenkappel
- Organic meat from Austria
- Bread from Weissensteiner bakery, Weissenstein
- Pasta from the pasta factory Finkenstein
- Potatoes from the potatoe yard Krainer from Lauen im Drautal
- Great attention is paid to the purchasing of all foods, particularly relating to regionality and seasonality of the produce. When purchasing fruit and vegetables for raw consumption (e.g. snacks) at Trans Gourmet, we are completely committed to seasonality and regionality, so therefore during the winter months only apples, pears and carrots (small ones, steamed) will be offered.
